Outdated Technology
Most of the current diagnostic testing options use outdated technologies. Technology does not allow tests to be performed outside of laboratories. Veterinary diagnostic technologies are
falling further and further behind advancements made in the human medical field.
Costs Prohibits Definitive Diagnosis
Current PCR solutions are cost prohibitive and often don’t allow veterinarians to pursue definitive diagnosis. Veterinarians are in need of a lower cost solution.
Slow Turnaround Times
The is no current rapid molecular testing providing results within 20 minutes. Existing molecular testing takes a minimum of several days for results.
Delayed treatment can lead to additional costs for the owner and deterioration in the animal’s health.
Respiratory Panel
Veterinarians occasionally see respiratory cases that can surge during outbreaks. Some cases are bacterial, and some are viral; however, many are extremely contagious. Having a fast, clear answer helps to guide treatment and prevent additional spread in densely populated vet clinics or dog-daycares.
Gastrointestinal Panel
It is common for dogs to have gastrointestinal upset. When it becomes severe, and the patient is critical, veterinarians need a tool to quickly diagnose. By knowing what they are treating, they can initiate the correct treatment immediately for better case outcomes and shorter hospital stays.
Urinary Panel
Dogs and cats often come into the general practitioner and ER with urinary signs. In fact, it is one of the most common cases that ER vets see. While the current gold standard of care is a urine culture, most don’t perform it because it has too slow of a turn around time. With a urinary test in the clinic, veterinarians can choose the right antibiotic the first time, and provide better medicine and faster urinary sign resolution.
